Aeon Mark Installation
3rd October 2019

Aeon Mark has been a Leyland Lodge since its consecration on the 29th March 1966.

Yes 1966, the last time England won the World Cup, there were many other things that happened in 1966, particularly for me, but least said soonest mended as they say. Moving from Towngate to Wellington Park in the early 90’s enable the Lodge to flourish in the sumptuous new surroundings  and the Lodge went from strength to strength. Sadly, we have now lost our much-coveted venue and whilst there may be a little uncertainty of where we will end up holding our meetings in the future Aeon has lost none of its attraction for New Mark Masons.
A planning meeting beforehand with John Rimmer (ME), Gordon McKay (WM)
Jim Hustler and Stewart Seddon Dc and ADC respectively
This year the Installation was held at Chorley Masonic Hall a couple of weeks earlier than we normally meet and very successful it was to!

The members assembled in the lower lodge room under the direction of Jim Hustler, DC, and The Master Gordon McKay opened the lodge in traditional form. The administrative business discharged at the DC retired to bring in W. Bro. John Bicknell. PGJD, Provincial Secretary, the representative of the RW Provincial Grand Master. John was escorted by VW and Grand Officers and was greeted by the Master.

It was then time for the Installation of W.Bro. John Rimmer, PAGDC, as Master of the Lodge, and flowing the appointment of Installing Officers, Gordon set about the ceremonial in fine fashion.
The end result Jim Hustler (DC), John Bicknell (Representative), John Rimmer (WM)
Gordon McKay (IPM) and Stewart Seddon (ADC)
Following the Inner workings, the Brethren re-entered to Lodge and completely filled the North of the Lodge to salute their new Master.

The officers were appointed, with only two apologies, and our New Master was into the remaining business in no time at all. After the first rising the Grand Offices retired, and they were soon joined by the remaining Brethren.

The caterer provided us with a meal befitting the occasion and following a session of toasts and short responses we were on our way home in the cool night air.

A big thank you to all who took part in the occasion and a special mention to the membership at Chorley who enabled us to meet there.
